Jamie's Shower

Jane and I were excited to host Jamie's "friend" shower last weekend. A bakery seemed a fitting location for the event.

Debbie was able to be there and help us, as well as being our photographer.

Bri was around for set-up.

And Brooke came for gift-opening.

She also had fun chatting it up with some of Jamie's friends. She had a lot of fun and talked about it for several days after.

I think she just assumes that if Will and Jamie are taking a picture, she should be in it?

Bridesmaids!

Wedding party ladies.

It was a fun time and I hope that it made Jamie feel as special as she is! On to the Bachelorette party!

Private Pool

It wasn't really "nice" enough to go to the pool last Sunday, but we've only been once this summer, so we decided to force the issue and went anyway. We were one of two families there. Not awkward at all.

After being there about an hour, Brooke declared that she need to "just relax" and got herself in this little set up for about ten minutes.

This girl has personality to spare.

One benefit of the less-than-ideal swimming weather was that the playground equipment was cool enough to play on.

Hopefully we can get more pool days in soon!

The Great Outdoors

I'm no meteorologist, but this summer has certainly felt chillier and rainier than usual, so anytime the weather is nice, we try to get outside. Brooke is really into picnics lately (despite being terrified of bugs), so one afternoon we went to Nike Park for a picnic.

We also enjoyed Kelly Park when my parents were in.

Paige has gotten quite good a butt-scooting, and is really only happy at playgrounds when she's on the equipment and can scoot. This usually is fine, but if we're at a busier park I can't just set her down for fear of her being trampled, so those times usually end up in a baby temper tantrum.

Brooke has mastered swinging solo without help. Bittersweet.

Brooke and Miles both love helping Paige on slides.

We also spent a morning at Briar Patch park. One benefit of cloudy weather is that the equipment stays cool.

Family time at the Arboretum. We love that place.

We've also enjoyed some time playing outside. Brooke is really motivated to ride her bike this summer, which is also fun to watch. We all have a goal of no-training-wheels by the end of summer.

On nice evenings when we're staying home, we like to take family walks.

Hopefully we'll have more days to play outside soon!
