June Randoms

I apologize for my lack of posting lately. Miles had croup a couple of weeks back. That virus is no joke. I had thought that it was just a fancy way of saying "cough", but it made nights brutal. He wouldn't cough much during the day, but as soon as he'd lay down, he would have fit after fit of coughing. Like, 2-pack-a-day coughing. His first night having it was also the first night Paige slept through the night. At least we didn't have two up at once? Thankfully, neither of the girls got it and he's since recovered nicely. Another reason I haven't posted much is because I'm having too much fun cuddling with this little lady while the other two are resting.

Then last week, we had VBS at our church. I taught the 30 preschoolers who came and it was a blast but also exhausting! Brooke's friends Kali and Zach came and I think they all had a good time. Here they are performing at church yesterday.

We've gone to the Arboretum once or twice.

Miles still enjoys attacking with kisses loving on Paige.

Who doesn't love a good bubble beard?

We've been to the pool a few times already. I'm proud to say that I took all three kids by myself one morning. They were great and we all had fun. Thank goodness for the kiddie pool and sand box.

Playdates/concerts.

My camera was stolen!

Cooking with Grammie Deb for Uncle Mike's birthday.

Playing together. At any given moment, they're either playing really well together or fighting. It can change on a dime.

"What did you get me into?!?" Brooke likes when I put words to what I think Paige is thinking.

A couple more selfies.

We've recently joined Costco, which I'm probably too excited about. They had a good deal on dog beds the other day and I figured Ozzie's put up with a lot these past 4 1/2 years, so he deserved a little something for the effort. It took a little getting used to, but now he likes it.

We've also enjoyed the sprinkler on a few hot afternoons that we've had recently.

Brooke started golf lessons (Lil' Chippers) at Medinah last week. It's a total of 5, 1-hr lessons throughout the summer, which I think is perfect for her age. She seemed to like her first day.

Her friend Annabelle from church is also a Lil' Chipper.

And one more, because she's cute.

We're headed to St. Louis for another visit this week. Hopefully I'll be more timely about posting those pictures. I hope you're having a great summer!

Paige at Two Months

Brace yourself for a Paige photo dump. She was two months old last Thursday and nine weeks old last Saturday. Time is going so quickly and I'd really like for it to slow down. Here are a couple of pictures that I took of her either right before she went to sleep or right when she woke up. I kind of treasure that time as I'm able to give her 100% of my attention then. She's also usually pretty happy then.

She's been sleeping through the night for all except one of the last 7 nights. She usually gets her last feeding around 8 and I put her down shortly after. She's usually awake, but will talk to herself/the ceiling fan for a bit before falling asleep. She's been waking up between 6-7 am. Don't hate me. This could all take a turn at any moment. But I sure hope it doesn't.

She's officially thumb-sucker #2 in our family. She's not usually super-fussy, but when she is, once she pops that baby in her mouth, she quiets pretty quickly.

Tummy time is not her strong-suit, which is largely my fault. I like having her nap on my chest during the afternoon so much that I forget to put her down for it. She also really favors putting her head to the right. She just had her 2 month check up today and the doctor gave me some good pointers for stretching her neck and getting her to look/lay to the left. We follow up in a month to determine if she could use a little physical therapy to help in this department.

She also likes sticking her tongue out.

She's eating 5-6 times per day. She's not getting bottles as often as Miles did (I feel like she's not eating as much as he did, either), but is getting them much more than Brooke did, which makes it much easier on Matt and her when/if I go out without her.

She's pretty smiley when she's awake, fed and dry. I have yet to capture it on film, but watching her smile at Brooke or Miles is the best.

I thought she was kind of skinny, but she's right on track according to those charts they show you at the pediatrician's office. She's 23 1/4 inches long (82%), and 11 lb, 3 oz (46%) with a head circumference of 16 1/4 in (99% - yikes!). Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe her length and big head just make the rest of her look extra skinny.

She's generally a very sweet, easygoing baby and is happy to be carted around to all of our activities with the older two. She does tend to have a "witching hour" around dinner and I often hold her while I'm eating, which is okay with me because I realize that before I know it, she won't need those extra cuddles.

She is such a perfect addition to our family and a joy to have around. We couldn't love her more and are thankful every day for little miss Paige Audrey!

Pool Party

Jamie and Will invited us over to their pool yesterday. Matt was out golfing, so the kids and I headed over after Miles' nap.

It was a great day for it and everyone had fun. Paige was content to rest/nap in her seat while we were there.

Because the pool depth was over Miles' head, he wanted his puddle jumper and raft. Jamie and Will are always so great with the kids and were happy to pull him around in all of his apparatuses (apparati?). He got out of the raft when they got into the small kiddie pool, but then there was a Leaky Swim Diaper incident (not Miles', thankfully!) that necessitated an evacuation of that pool.

What a fun afternoon! Thanks for having us!

Visiting Grandma Audie

We got to visit Grandma Audie this past weekend. We timed the visit perfectly, arriving as some pretty bad storms hit. Group photos just aren't what they used to be. At least everyone was having fun.

Paige seemed to like cuddling with her great-grandma and even chatted with her a little.

Miles wanted me to take a picture of him enjoying some of the many snacks that they always ask for when we're over there.

Cheerios and sour cream and onion chips. Yum!

Here are the kids looking at the fish tank in the family room. They always have fun exploring there and seem to discover something new each time.
