Brooke is 5!

A week after Paige turned 6 months, Brooke turned five. I kept joking with her that she could have her birthday, but she would have to turn four again. Five just seems like such a milestone age...such a BIG GIRL age. And I'm not ready for that.

But ready or not, here she comes. She's getting more and more independent and taking pride in that independence. She's either super-happy to help me around the house or with her siblings, or super-annoyed that I would even ask her to help. She probably averages one negative consequence a day and at times her emotions really get the best of her.

But overall, she's a really funny, happy girl. She loves performing and acting out real-life play schemes (playing house, grocery store, etc.). She also likes any art project. She's kind of a hoarder and is pretty disorganized. Her room and her dad's closet look pretty similar. Not that I'm pointing any fingers...

She is generally very thoughtful and sensitive to the feelings of others. She loves school and is becoming more and more interested in math and reading. She's also using more and more big words, like "unusually" and  "complicated".

She usually wakes up around 7 in the morning and absolutely refuses an afternoon nap. She goes to bed around 7:30, but it's usually 8:30 before she falls asleep.

She has a wardrobe change at least once a day and if you haven't noticed, that change is usually into her Anna dress.

She's a great big sister and a light in our lives. We're so thankful to be her parents and love her more than words can express. Happy birthday, Sweet Girl!
